Privacy Policy — Malta Mobile Guide
Malta Mobile Guide is committed to protecting the privacy and personal data of every visitor to our website. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we store and protect it, and what rights you have regarding your data. By using our website, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this policy. We operate in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) as applicable in Malta and the European Union, as well as local data protection legislation enforced by the Office of the Information and Data Protection Commissioner (IDPC) in Malta.

Data Collection
We collect two categories of information: data you provide voluntarily and data collected automatically. Voluntarily provided data includes your name, email address, and message content when you use our contact form, as well as any information you submit through our plan checklist tool (such as budget preferences and usage estimates). Automatically collected data includes your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring URL, pages visited, time spent on each page, and device type. If you use our speed test widget, we also collect network performance data (download speed, upload speed, latency, and approximate geolocation based on IP address). This speed test data is anonymised before being aggregated into our coverage maps and reports. We do not collect sensitive personal data such as financial information, health data, or government identification numbers. We use cookies and similar tracking technologies as described in our separate Cookie Policy.
Use of Data
We use the data we collect for the following purposes: to respond to your enquiries and provide customer support; to improve our website content, comparison tools, and coverage maps; to generate anonymised, aggregated network performance statistics; to analyse website traffic patterns and optimise user experience; to send occasional email updates about major guide changes or new tools, but only if you have explicitly opted in to receive such communications; and to comply with legal obligations. We do not use your personal data for automated decision-making or profiling. We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes. Any data processing we perform is based on one of the following legal bases under GDPR: your explicit consent, the necessity of processing for the performance of a contract, our legitimate interests in improving our services, or compliance with a legal obligation.
Data Storage
Your personal data is stored on secure servers located within the European Economic Area (EEA). Contact form submissions are retained for a maximum of 24 months from the date of your last interaction with us, after which they are permanently deleted. Anonymised speed test data is retained indefinitely for historical analysis and trend reporting, as it cannot be linked back to individual users. Website analytics data is retained for 26 months in accordance with our analytics platform's default settings. We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect stored data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include encryption of data in transit using TLS 1.3, encrypted database storage, regular security audits, and access controls limiting data access to authorised team members only.
User Rights
Under the GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data: the right to access — you can request a copy of all personal data we hold about you; the right to rectification — you can ask us to correct any inaccurate or incomplete data; the right to erasure (right to be forgotten) — you can request deletion of your personal data, subject to certain legal exceptions; the right to restrict processing — you can ask us to limit how we use your data; the right to data portability — you can request your data in a structured, machine-readable format; the right to object — you can object to data processing based on our legitimate interests; and the right to withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at info@maltamobileoperatorsguidelandinggomelitaepiccomparisontables5gcoveragemapstourist.com. We will respond to your request within 30 days. If you are unsatisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the IDPC in Malta.
Third-Party Services
Our website uses a limited number of third-party services that may process your data. These include: Google Analytics for website traffic analysis (anonymised IP addresses, page views, session duration); Cloudflare for content delivery and DDoS protection (IP addresses, request headers); our email service provider for processing contact form submissions; and embedded map services for displaying coverage maps. Each of these third-party providers operates under their own privacy policies and data processing agreements that comply with GDPR requirements. We have executed Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) with all third-party processors to ensure your data is handled in accordance with applicable data protection laws. We do not use third-party advertising networks that track users across websites. Any display advertising on our site is served directly and does not involve behavioural targeting or cross-site tracking.
Data Security
We take the security of your personal data seriously and implement multiple layers of protection. All data transmitted between your browser and our servers is encrypted using TLS 1.3. Our servers are hosted in GDPR-compliant data centres with physical security measures including biometric access controls, 24/7 surveillance, and redundant power systems. We conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on our web applications. Access to personal data is restricted to team members who require it for their specific roles, and all team members have signed confidentiality agreements. We maintain an incident response plan and will notify affected users and the relevant supervisory authority within 72 hours in the event of a data breach that poses a risk to your rights and freedoms, as required by GDPR Article 33.
Children's Privacy
Our website and services are not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us immediately at info@maltamobileoperatorsguidelandinggomelitaepiccomparisontables5gcoveragemapstourist.com. Upon verification, we will promptly delete any personal data associated with the child from our systems. In cases where we discover that we have inadvertently collected data from a child under 16, we will take immediate steps to delete that data and, where appropriate, notify the parent or guardian. We encourage parents and guardians to monitor their children's online activity and to educate them about safe internet practices.
Policy Updates
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our data practices, legal requirements, or business operations. When we make material changes, we will post the updated policy on this page with a revised 'Last Updated' date and, where appropriate, notify registered users via email. We encourage you to review this policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your data. Your continued use of our website after any changes to this policy constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms. If a change materially affects how we process data you have already provided, we will seek your renewed consent where required by law. Previous versions of this policy are available upon request by contacting us at info@maltamobileoperatorsguidelandinggomelitaepiccomparisontables5gcoveragemapstourist.com.
